Last week, Phoenix showed why they’re the reigning champions of the 2023 USL Championship. Although our team didn't give up, Clay Holstad’s stunning ‘89th-minute goal, [which was nominated for Goal of the Week](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSp3iJTYUcU&t=6s&ref=tidetalkri.com), nearly brought us back into the match. Now, we're aiming to regain our momentum as we head to North Carolina to take on North Carolina FC.

Rhode Island FC currently sits one point above North Carolina FC in the Eastern Conference table, with 7 points compared to North Carolina's 6 points. North Carolina FC enters this match with a record of 1 win, 3 draws, and 4 losses. Both teams are coming off recent losses, with North Carolina FC losing 2-1 to the Indy Eleven. Now, they'll both be eager to secure a victory and bounce back stronger.

How do you evaluate our team's progress this season? As for official watch parties, RIFC and Chip will be at Proc in Warwick tonight, while Defiance 1636 will be at the Guild in Pawtucket. Is anyone heading down to Cary, NC for the game? If so, it seems like the North Carolina weather will be beautiful. Regardless of where you're tuning in from, let's support our team as they aim to secure some much-needed points on the road! #UpTheTide
