Rhode Island FC vs. Brooklyn FC Player Ratings - 10/03/2026

Rhode Island FC sailed to a comfortable 3-1 win on the road at Brooklyn FC on Saturday night.
Rhode Island took care of business against a team that they should be beating and now find themselves in 5th place in the Eastern Conference, having won two games in a row for the second time this season.
The traveling support was fantastic - per usual. I would say about 1/3rd of the fans in the stadium were there for Rhode Island FC. There was genuinely nothing redeeming about the viewing experience at Maimonides Park. The Brooklyn crowd was abysmal and the view was absolutely awful. When you hear “Brooklyn Away Day”, it sounds glamorous… but I assure you this was not. Even the formidable Nathan’s of Coney Island managed to disappoint us after the match. So, shoutout to all the fans who made the trip.
The players absolutely made it worth our while though, with some of the best team celebrations with the traveling support that I’ve seen. The players deserved the chance to soak it all in, and they definitely did. Sure, it’s only Brooklyn - but this team has faced a lot of adversity with the departures of JJ Williams and Clay Holstad midseason, so it felt meaningful to get the over-the-top celebrations with both the new faces and the old.
With that said - I could barely see the match between the distance from the pitch and the baseball netting. So we’ll keep the ratings brief.

Rhode Island FC Player Ratings:
Koke Vegas (GK) - 6/10
Solid performance from Koke - he made no saves, but had a few good claims and punch outs. The Brooklyn goal took a nasty deflection (I’m PRETTY sure?), and robbed Koke of what should’ve been a relatively low effort clean sheet.
Aldair Sanchez (D) - 5/10
Not Aldair‘s loudest performance but he was perfectly good. He saw a lot of action on the left from Brooklyn in the first half, and held up pretty well - winning eight of his duels.
Karifa Yao (D) - 7/10
Excellent defensive play from both Yao and Frank, dealing with every single (well, all but one) Brooklyn threat comfortably. I’ve mentioned it previously, but Yao’s passing range has really improved this year as well.
Of course, Yao also doubled the Rhode Island FC lead with a headed shot that dribbled into the bottom left corner.
Frank Nodarse (D) - 7/10
Frank was every bit as good as Karifa, and did even more work both defensively and on the ball. Frank had 17 total defensive contributions, proving that he was mopping up absolutely every Brooklyn attack. He also led all players with 73 touches - he is instrumental to our build up play.
Nick Scardina (D) - 6/10
Scardina was having a decent or average match, until scoring a good goal in the 55th minute. It was a pretty acrobatic finish to clean up the rebound from Stas’s chance - but also a great supporting run from Scardina to be in position to bury this.
Hugo Bacharach (MF) - 6/10
Hugo didn’t quite take over the game the same way that he did against Indy midweek, but it was a solid, characteristic Hugo performance.
Amos Shapiro-Thompson (MF) - 7/10
Amos was his typical high-energy self in the midfield. He opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a speculative effort that found the top left corner of the net. Equally important, he covered a lot of ground in midfield helping to win back balls and recycle possession.
Noah Fuson (F) - 5/10
A bit underwhelming from Noah, in a position where we’ve seen him thrive in the past. He did create a big chance for Stas in the second half which leads to our goal, but otherwise a relatively quiet night and only one shot of his own - not to mention being dispossessed a game-high three times.
Yutaro Tsukada (F) - 6/10
A relatively quiet night for Tsukada as well in open play, besides his deep cross that assisted Karifa Yao on our second goal of the night. Our first goal also started with a Tsukada set piece delivery.
Stas Korzeniowski (F) - 5/10
Stas‘s biggest moment of the night was his missed big chance off the feed from Noah in the second half, which saw Jackson Lee shut the door on him in front of the Brooklyn goal (although Scardina follows it up with a goal).
Otherwise more of the same from Stas - not a ton of service but displayed tight hold up play, good passing range, and definitely has the ability to beat his man.
Also - Stas wins the Best Post Game Vibes award. By a long shot.
Dani Rovira (F) - 5/10
I’ve enjoyed all of Dani’s appearances this season, and tonight was no different. He slotted in fairly comfortable on our right wing and had some nice exchanges with Nick Scardina down the right.
Subs
Leo Afonso - 6/10
A very nice cameo, tied for a team-high two chances created in just 28 minutes.
Osman Foyo - 5/10
Continues to look dangerous - with a couple of good runs in behind the defense tonight.
Zach Herivaux - N/A
Eric Klein - N/A
Nikolai Olivier Pierre - N/A
